Fund Raising
During the course of the last year we  were  more than fortunate to have received a considerable amount support and donations from various sources for our local group.

These include a Fun Day organised by Princess Yachts of Plymouth which raised £18,000 and also Paddy Trinder who organised a 24 hour Rowathon in the village square in Yealmpton and The Volunteer Public House. This raised a further £1,322 and with Gift Aid, should lift this figure above the £1,500 mark.

Our sincere thanks go to all who took part and contributed to these events and we look forwards to many more this year.
Barry Woon raised an incredible £169 86p at his 80th Birthday bash, congratulations Barry.

Roger Bennett’s friends raised a praise worthy £55 at a charity lunch they organised, well done Roger and friends.

Jackie Francis whose husband John is a person living with MND came up with a very novel way of raising money for the local group, she has been ‘on the wagon’ or going dry for 13 weeks and having nearly completed her mission has raised the incredible sum of £1,247.00.
Jackie has  managed to raise the money with the help of friends and from members of the clubs she belongs to and having cleared it with the National Office she would like the money to be spent on treats for local people with MND and their carers, either a massage, manicure, meal, theatre, cinema etc., or whatever they choose. Dawn Burley has written a letter to each person on her Branch list to let them know about this tremendous offer.
I’m sure we would all like to give Jackie our thanks for such a wonderful gesture.
Jackie has raised a further £78 by auctioning a water colour painting that was presented to her for our cause.
