Our charity was nominated along with three others after the fantastic sum of £72,000 was raised by the 2000 employees and their families during a Fun Day organised by the company, a sponsored swim and the generosity of suppliers to the company.
Sadly a young gentleman who started work as an apprentice with the company has been diagnosed with MND and his colleagues where keen to not only support him, but others in the district who are living with the disease.
A company spokes person said “we were lucky that on the day the sun shone and people supported us and enjoyed the day in exactly the way that I had hoped for and it was a great privilege to be able to pass on their generosity to the four charities concerned”

The Plymouth Argyle collection on Sunday 2nd May 2010 against Peterborough United raised £205.56. Many thanks to those who helped the collection and sorry that Argyle lost, but they were down anyway, it just rubbed salt in the wounds to be beaten by the bottom team.
