The Thumbs Up sign represents David Niven’s last defiant gesture.
It still remains a symbol of hope.

Welcome to the Plymouth and District MND Association Web Site
The site is here to help and inform you of what is happening both locally and nationally
A new website about people's experiences of living with MND is due to be launched this month.

The site draws on a research study which involved interviews with 35 people with MND and 11 carers around the country. It includes summaries of a wide range of
themes illustrated by video, audio and written clips from the interviews.
Visitors to the site will be able to see and listen to real people talking about topics such as their immediate reactions to the diagnosis; how they manage daily life; the impact on their family; how they made decisions about equipment, home adaptations, or interventions such as feeding tubes and ventilation; and their philosophy and attitude to life.  www.dipex.org/motorneuronedisease
National Announcement
Local Announcement
The Plymouth and District MND Association held there AGM. on Monday 17th March 2008 at the Venton Centre, St Jude's, Plymouth. It was decided at that meeting to convert from a Branch  to a Group Organisation. This means that Jilly Hemmings, the retiring Chairman of the Branch, will not be succeeded and we all wish her luck in her new ventures. Dawn Burley  and Joy Rendle are also retiring from the committee, however Dawn will stay on in her role as first contact.

It must be stated that this change from Branch to Group in no way affects the running of the Local Organisation and we will all continue to strive towards helping those living with MND through out the district with advice and fundraising ventures, in order to make their journey’s easier.
